WHEATLANDS D TEAM WINNERS IN NATIONAL NINES CI QUALIFIER |

On Saturday 5th April, the first regional qualifier for the National Nines of Europe took place for the Channel Islands at Wheatlands Golf Course.
For the first year ever we had the support of St Clements Golf Club entering two teams.
The weather started fine and sunny and the there was only one point in the front 9 scores between Wheatlands D team on 51 and Wheatlands A team on 52.
A few showers later and the pressure began to tell.
Wheatlands D team consisting of Allan Black, Paul Jones and Oliver Davies who managed to make the final last year fought back for the extra points and came in with a final score of 104 points. The A team followed closely, Trevor Allen, Peter Horsfall and Kenny Jafrray, becoming the runners up with a score of 102. In third place was 2006 National Nines winners, Wheatlands C team, Richard Kemp, Marcel Le Claire and Richard Spence with 96 points.
The winning team will now go through to the final at Les Ormes on October 1st.
